" A" rated insurance company in the Irving area is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner. 

This is a contract to hire position paying $25-35 hr D.O.E. 

Minimum 2 years experience is required. 


Responsible for handling property damage claims.  They may work with and establish rapport with insureds, agents, underwriters, contractors, restoration vendors and experts and work in a team environment with other Claims Examiners, Adjusters and Associates. Responsible for reviewing policies, claims, property damage estimates, photos, police reports, inspections reports and other related reports to evaluate damage and coverage and make a determination of amounts covered under the applicable insurance policy.  Claims Examiners are responsible for requesting payments, issuing claim payment letters and/denial letters when appropriate.


Essential Functions

Investigates, evaluates and resolves claims, applying technical knowledge, human relation skills to effect fair and prompt resolution of claims.

Adjust reserves and/or provides reserve recommendations.

Handle homeowners, dwelling fire, tenant, condo and personal property claims.

Ensure proper guidelines were followed during claim phases.

Review claims to determine if costs were reasonable.

Consult policy files to verify coverage.

Evaluate damages to ascertain compensation amount.

Enter claim payments and inputting clean concise file documentation.

Examine photographs and statements.

Evaluate all information to determine how claim should be handled.

Negotiate with insured and/or claimant to resolve claim.

Work with attorneys, public adjusters, roofers, plumbers, contractors, etc…

Request payments and correspond with various parties involved in the claim.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’ s Degree or equivalent experience

Must have or secure appropriate state adjuster license and continuing education credits

Two or more years related work experience and/or training handling property and/or liability claims
Property and liability claims
