Seeking a motivated and highly detail oriented Architect or Engineer with a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ active Architecture or Engineering experience.  We are looking for a person who has knowledge of drafting standards, building codes and permitting processes as well as proficiency in AutoCAD.  The ideal candidate will have ability to ensure checks and balances on files provided by manufacturers, engineers and architects for consistencies and potential issues.
  • Serve as point person with engineering firm for state/city approvals
  • Work from drawings, sketches, scanned images and/or specifications
  • Review all plans and propose adjustments
  • Update and maintain file history, recent versions, obsolete versions and updates
  • Assist in knowing types of brackets and load calculations
  • Interface with zoning and state
  • Call inspectors and set up state approvals
  • Attend pre-construction meetings/calls and document discussions
  • Organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks on multiple projects
  • Going to appropriate source with accurate data and terminology
  • Strong customer service commitment
  • Assumes Responsibility - self-starter with willingness to interact as a team player and take independent initiative
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years’ active Architectural or Engineering experience
  • Bachelor’ s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of IBC and/or ASTM F2970 and F1918
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and interpret verbal and written instructions
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and interpret verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrate ability to manage production of multiple drawings and projects at the same time and the ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritize and meet deadlines in stressful situations
  • Timely completion of projects, makes time for unplanned assignments, adapts to changing priorities
  • Demonstrate ability to use AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word and general computer skills
  • Respects all members; solicits others’ opinions; supports and complies with team decisions; shares useful information
