Job Description

Job Title: Welder III (ASME Code Welder - Pressure Vessel Welder)

Location: Guthrie, OK

Job Duties:
•  Perform work in a professional and safe manner, report unsafe work practices
•  Set-up/run all structural code welds
•  Understand how to perform visual and in-process inspections in accordance with ASME and ISO quality specifications.
•  Read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications and welding procedures.
•  Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels and tape measures
•  Perform welding applications within one or more work teams.
•  Helps facilitate the team in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving welding problems that enhance through-put within the work team.
•  Responsible for supporting the team and team' s objectives.
•  Responsible for training team members.
•  Required to pass periodic welding tests and qualifications in compliance with qualification procedures.
•  Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Skills and Competencies:
•  Knowledge of how to run all welding equipment and knowledge of welding processes.
•  Ability to read blue prints, follow instructions, read measurements, interpret welding specification and welding procedures
•  Must be able to use and read welding measuring devices to include but not limited to squares, levels and tape measures
•  Ability to read and interpret written instructions
•  Detail Oriented
•  Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
•  Working knowledge of shop scheduling, material provisions, shop layout and process throughout

Education, Experience and Training:
•  High School Diploma or equivalent diploma.
•  Prior ASME vessel weld experience preferred
Physical and Environmental requirements
•  Ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods of time
•  Manufacturing shop environment 
Downhill welding Xray welding (all welds have to be able to be put under a pressure test and xrayed to ensure they will hold pressure Previous experience on ASME Code welding – must have experience welding vessels, boilermakers or containers. Pipeline welders are not a good fit. Ask them what they have been welding. If they welded fences or structures, they won’t be a good fit. Mainly Mig experience – TIG is not used. But it must be MIG pertaining to the above experience. Welder 3’s have to be highly skilled at their trade with the 2+ years of experience since the speed of the weld and wire burns so much hotter and faster than your standard structural weld. Safety is HUGE here.
