Production Artist - Carrollton, TX

When You' ll Be Working
This is a two week assignment,  9/6-9/23.

How Much You' ll Be Making
Production Artist makes $18/hr. 

What You' ll Be Doing
The graphics Production Artist position prepares all incoming artwork to ensure accurate images, sizes, color and material meet requirements of each project and oversees its progress through production. The candidate should be a creative and innovative thinker with strong consultation, project management and writing skills.
  • Read and analyze production and shipping orders to determine graphic and exhibit requirements
  • Evaluate customer art files for resolution, size, layout, spelling, colors, etc
  • Quote labor time to perform requested and required modifications to supplied art files
  • Perform requested and required modifications to supplied art files to make print ready
  • Actively manage timeline for each project assigned.  This should be an all-encompassing project management approach to each job.  Below are some of the milestones that should be monitored:
    • Arrival of customer provided art
    • Arrival of art produced from internal Creative department
    • Measure or verify exact sizes to known or customer supplied hardware
    • Output of digital or printed graphic proof to customer
    • Approval of graphic proof (and required modifications)
    • Color proofing on respective printer hardware
    • Printing of graphics
    • Finishing of printed graphics
    • Quality control inspection of outsourced graphics upon arrival from vendor
    • Quality control inspection of finished graphics with hardware
    • Shipping of completed project
  • Evaluation of rush project requests
  • Evaluation of special project and material requests
  • Additional time should be spent cross training with print technician to manage print production and creating / calibrating color profiles for each print media

  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, and very organized

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Advanced knowledge of ESKO i-cut prep. software
  • Intermediate knowledge of MAC OS platform
  • Intermediate knowledge of industry standard vinyl cutting software (i.e. Summa, FlexiSign)
  • Intermediate knowledge of color theory principles
  • Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry principles
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems utilizing user que data (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics NAV)
  • Clearly understand written and verbal communication
  • Understand schematic drawings as applies to graphic and exhibit assembly
  • Basic knowledge and use of measurement devices
  • The position requires good, basic, clerical and administrative skills with emphasis on verbal and written communication skills (in English), good common sense; positive attitude; willingness to take initiative; and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Cooperative, courteous, flexible and good natured.
  • Conscientious, persistent, resourceful, productive and active.
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and deal with employees in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Must have Exhibit/Trade Show industry experience.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and commitment to meeting and exceeding deadlines and goals.
