Pay: $11/hr

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7: 30am-4: 30pm

Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting and performing cosmetic and functional refurbishment of various personal electronic devices to include paging, cellular, gaming systems, mp3 players, etc. from various manufacturers in accordance with manufacturer’ s warranty, customer’ s requirements, and/or company requirements.

Key Responsibilities (list specific job duties)
  • Perform cosmetic refurbishment of devices by:
  • Assessing the device against established criteria to determine cosmetic parts needing replacement
  • Clean device surfaces using proper cleaning methods and materials
  • Replacing housings, buttons, lens, etc. as needed using proper tools and techniques
  • Perform functional refurbishment of devices by:
  • Testing the device using established test methods and criteria to determine defective components
  • Assess device for evidence of liquid damage/physical damage
  • Clean electronic components, PCB, LCD, connections, etc. using proper cleaning methods and materials
  • Replace plug-in, non-soldered functional parts as needed using proper tools and electronic assembly techniques
  • Test device using established test methods and criteria to verify serviceability of repair
  • Accurately enter device failure data and parts/service provided into the repair database
  • Disposition and route devices to appropriate work processes
  • Maintain minimum established Units Per Hour expectations
  • Understand and utilize ESD precautions where applicable
  • Keep workstation and inventory secure, neat, clean and organized at all times in compliance with company 5S standards
  • Maintain and secure all company equipment, inventory and tools
  • Undergo cross-training on duties in other functional areas and support functions as needed

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; includes speaking, reading, writing, understanding, and comprehension
  • 6 to 12 months OEM certified related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent soldering skills and experience with electronic component assembly; certifications such as IPC are a plus
  • Experience using common hand tools
  • Basic PC skills required.  Must be able to open, close, and navigate within programs.  Simple data entry is necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and move freely
  • Must have good finger/wrist/arm mobility, and finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must have excellent vision; corrected or uncorrected
