Senior Bankruptcy Cash Specialist - Jacksonville, FL
Position Summary:
  • Responsible for properly posting and processing Bankruptcy payments specific to all aspects of BK: Post-Petition, Pre-Petition, Agreed Orders, Proof of Claim on various BK Chapters
  • The Bankruptcy Cash Sr. is responsible for handling more complex items and higher escalations for the BK Cash group.
  • Understand and update bankruptcy payment history, bankruptcy ledgers and bankruptcy cash activity
  • Balance and reconcile bankruptcy payments in accordance to the BK
  • Participate in bankruptcy projects as needed
  • Management Responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

Essential Functions/Specific Duties:
  • Ensure all cash items are applied per requirements and per the terms of loan documents, and that all ledgers are in balance and accurate in accordance to the bankruptcy.
  • Assist in training and coaching regarding BK Cash aspects and BK Cash processing
  • Take initiative to handle complex issues and extensive maintenance for BK Cash requests.
  • Perform processing and maintenance functions as relates to bankruptcy account servicing.
  • Analyze associated data and performing loan maintenance that ultimately resolves Loan System corrections for bankruptcy loans.
  • Research and analyze past bankruptcy loan history identifying necessary adjustments that ensure the loan is being serviced appropriately - ensure complete resolution for bankruptcy accounts.
  • Perform processing and maintenance functions as relates to areas in bankruptcy servicing.
  • Perform duties that aid in the processing of servicing documents and accounting, ensuring transactions are within compliance guidelines. This may include data entry, reviewing documents, tracking, filing, and payment research.
  • Assist the Supervisor with various activities needed to bring other team members current.
  • Ensure service level agreement deadlines are met on all processes and items are processed within allotted handling times.
  • Perform duties that aid in the processing of servicing documents and accounting, ensuring transactions are within compliance guidelines. This may include data entry, reviewing documents, tracking, filing, and payment research.
  • Recognize areas within loan servicing that present opportunities for improvement and make appropriate recommendations to management that support and enhance process and system improvements.
  • Demonstrate marked initiative in effectively learning all processes within bankruptcy loan servicing, including both upstream and downstream processes.
  • Actively share knowledge with co-workers
  • Any other job responsibilities requested by management.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

Education:
  • 2-year post-secondary education preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Loan Servicing or Financial Services preferred.
  • Knowledge of Loan Servicing practices
  • MSP servicing platform experience preferred.
  • Previous PC and MS Office product experience and/or knowledge required.
  • Bankruptcy Experience preferred

Skills:
  • Detail Oriented
  • Previous computer experience and / or knowledge required.
  • Strong numeric and analytical aptitude.
  • Customer service focused with strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Analytical, mathematical and systems savvy. Ability to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
